Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at BayMark Health Services. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule intake appointments, verify patient information, and prepare medical records for new and returning patients.
  • Check in patients, escort them to and from the waiting room, and record vital signs and patient information.
  • Assist Medical Director/Program Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient intakes and as needed.
  • Collect blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and disinfect equipment and supplies.
  • Perform secretarial duties, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Triage and manage phone contacts, fax messages, and other patient inquiries.
  • File lab results and distribute them to counselors.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18.
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration.
  • Phlebotomy skills required.
  • CPR/BCLS certification.
  • Familiarity with State Regulations, DEA regulations, and TJC and/or CARF Accreditation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and patient management software.
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport with patients and demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude toward the Substance Use Disorder population.
  • 1-2 years of prior healthcare experience in a similar field and environment preferred.
