Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with various speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. This role will involve working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address each student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Perform detailed assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language capabilities.
  • Treatment Planning: Create and implement personalized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment data.
  • Direct Therapeutic Services: Deliver direct therapeutic services to students with identified speech and language disorders.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with educators, parents, and school staff to support and enhance students' communication abilities.
  • Progress Tracking: Track and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as required.
  • IEP Participation: Participate in IEP meetings, offering valuable insights into student progress and objectives.
  • Professional Development: Remain up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Licensure: Current Speech-Language Pathologist licensure in Florida.
  • Certification: Certification from the Florida Department of Education as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience: Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school setting with children.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
