As a Senior Energy Control Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing real-time controls solutions for microgrids and power plant controls.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement real-time controls solutions for microgrids and power plant controls, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Program real-time controllers, ensuring consistency with product roadmap and delivering high-quality solutions.
- Create, deploy, and manage libraries and extensions for software/hardware PLC platforms, supporting multiple use cases across Stem's business verticals.
- Design and implement a power system automation and control platform, enabling complex automation and protection solutions, such as vector-based island detection schemes and DER capability-based load sharing schemes.
- Deliver robust documentation, programming, and testing of Real-Time Controls, including HIL integrated testing.
- Perform technical review of user requirements, including system designs and single-line drawings for power plant and microgrid controls.
- Serve as a microgrid controls SME, providing technical guidance and mentoring to deployment, application engineering, sales, program, and product teams.
- Develop power plant control solutions, including real-time non-export, load sharing, load management, generator management, breaker control schemes, synchronizing, protection-based advanced islanding schemes, and seamless transfer of microgrids.
- Collaborate with RT Controls Simulation engineer to develop models and complete HIL testing, model-based development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.
