Job Description

Vanguard Renewables is a leading developer/operator in the U.S. anaerobic digester industry, converting organic waste and cow manure into renewable energy. With over 40 projects across 16 states, we are rapidly expanding into new markets.

As a Regional Logistics Manager, you will unite Sales, Operations, Biology, and Logistics to maximize feedstock intake, enhance gas output, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority.
  • Build a culture where Logistics is accountable for delivering a top-tier experience in the assigned region.
  • Foster talent development and transparent leadership within the logistics team.
  • Strategically grow the internal fleet and personnel within the region.
  • Negotiate transportation rates for carriers operating in the region.
  • Build an industry-leading team through process development, training, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Leadership to create goals, metrics, and KPIs for success.
  • Determine workflows, hiring needs, and equipment requirements.
  • Build relationships with haulers and secure multiple carrier options for the region.
  • Hire and manage on-site logistics personnel for new facility locations within the region.
  • Oversee both internal and external hauling efficiencies.
  • Develop KPIs and hold direct reports accountable for expected results.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and sales teams to maximize inbound feedstock.
  • Identify alternatives to increase efficiency at specific Organic Recovery Areas (ORA).
  • Support market managers in developing service strategies and pricing for new business.
  • Negotiate and improve existing work processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the waste transportation or operations industry.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and employee management skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to take concepts from idea to full execution using various resources.
  • Experience mentoring and developing staff, fostering a cohesive, results-driven department.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
