Job Description

The Production Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for executing work in compliance with our ZERO EHS Impact Philosophy. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to implement production improvements programs, optimizing production processes and ensuring EHS compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Provide technical support for production troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis of process issues
  • Develop and lead advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving processes
  • Collaborate with Quality on chemistry-related issues and method formulation improvements
  • Work with site engineering to develop project scopes and process engineering packages for new installations and retrofits
  • Provide technical input for maintenance of raw material usage standards and drive analysis and continuous improvement of raw material utilization
  • Analyze equipment time utilization and drive continuous improvement
  • Responsible for functional safety execution, including process hazard analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis, Management of Change, and completion of Corrective and Preventative Actions
  • Provide technical support to basic process control systems to optimize process performance and functionality
  • Assist production department with creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures
  • Lead or assist in incident and near miss investigation processes to mitigate risk or resolve
  • Support development of KPIs and goals aligned with the PPMC and monitor KPI performance to identify support needs
  • Prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiatives
  • Satisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements

Requirements:
  • BS of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency
  • 1-5 years engineering experience in a chemical plant
  • Experience in batch, semi-batch, and continuous processing and controls
  • Chemical engineering knowledge including fluid transport, heat transfer, filtration, reaction kinetics, and general process equipment
  • High level of initiative and energy
