Job Summary:

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Part-time Instructor to teach part-time courses for the Business Technology-Healthcare Receptionist program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and participating in college service activities.

Responsibilities:

The Part-time Instructor will be responsible for:
  • Teaching part-time courses in the Business Technology-Healthcare Receptionist program, including Medical Language for the Business Professional 1, Medical Language for the Business Professional 2, Medical Administrative Procedures, and Specialized Insurance Claims.
  • Developing and planning instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods, including hybrid, face-to-face, and online course delivery.
  • Participating in in-service meetings, community days training, staff development training, or other activities requested by the Department.
  • Assisting and advising students with problems related to assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Complying with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance, and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling.
  • Maintaining competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Assisting students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • A Master's degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Education, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of experience in a medical administrative professional, medical office manager, or other medical administrative position.
  • OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Education, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years or 6,000 hours of experience in a medical administrative professional, medical office manager, or other medical administrative position.
