Job Summary:

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Part-Time Instructor to teach part-time courses for the Body Structure and Function program. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing adult students in Body Structure and Function at the vocational and associate degree credit levels. The instructor will assist with the development of instructional strategies and curriculum, and participate in in-service meetings, staff development training, or other activities requested by the Department.

Responsibilities:

1. Teach part-time courses in the Body Structure and Function program, including but not limited to, basic human body structure and functions, and fundamentals needed to understand and evaluate health practices related to each system and the body as a whole.

2. Develop and plan appropriate instructional strategies and alternative delivery strategies when appropriate, including but not limited to, hybrid, face-to-face, and online course delivery.

3. Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training, or other activities requested by the Department.

4. Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.

5. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance, and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling.

6. Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance.

7. Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, etc.

8. Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field that leads to employment in a patient care facility such as a hospital or clinic, or a Bachelor's Degree with a biological science major from an accredited public or private institution, or the following equivalent: Employment in a patient care facility such as a hospital or clinic combined with education, training, and tested experience preparing a person for the occupation totaling 7 years or 14,000 hours.

2. Two (2) years (4000 hours) of related work experience. One (1) year (2,000 hours) of related work experience must be within the past five (5) years. Two (2) years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five (5) years may be substituted for the one (1) year of related work experience within the past five (5) years.
