Job Title: Senior Accountant

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the successful day-to-day operations and long-term growth of Corporate Accounting.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and analysis. This role requires expertise in advanced accounting principles, including GAAP research, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting close processes by performing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparations, management reports, and other financial analyses and reports.
  • Assist in multi-entity GAAP financial statement preparation, including footnote disclosures and consolidations.
  • Conduct special projects and ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with design and implementation of financial reporting enhancements across the company.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules and assist the auditors with their inquiries.
  • Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies.
  • Technical accounting research.
  • Assist with budgeting and proformas, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • CPA preferred (or CPA eligible).
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and GAAP research.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to research issues, make recommendations, and pick up quickly on new systems and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience working with an ERP system, Oracle experience preferred.
  • Experience working with IBM Planning and Analysis is a plus.
