Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Services Technician to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will provide essential support to our physical therapists and patients, ensuring the highest level of care and service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient treatments as directed by physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct passive range of motion and monitor active range of motion on assigned patients, setting up treatments as needed.
  • Monitor patients performing basic exercises, providing feedback to therapists and assistants as required.
  • Perform charge audits and charge reconciliation, communicating necessary corrections to relevant personnel.
  • Identify new therapy orders and patient discharges, assigning new patients to therapists as needed.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, completing non-clinical and clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, performing other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • No prior experience required, but a willingness to learn and adapt to our team's needs is essential.
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing, frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Frequent walking, reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.
  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling.
