Job Summary

The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing all plant accounting functions, ensuring compliance with corporate and GAAP guidelines. This role prepares financial reports and provides guidance to management teams on the plant's financial performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager and Senior Director Operations Finance to drive operational financial performance and provide oversight on plant financials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee accounting activities, providing technical guidance and leadership to direct reports and management staff.
  • Implement and administer accounting policies and procedures to maintain internal control and improve operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and administer department budgets, monitoring performance against targets and formulating recommendations for improvement.
  • Direct the preparation and presentation of financial information to the General Manager, ensuring accurate and uniform recording and reporting.
  • Conduct financial analyses and interpret data to inform business decisions, identifying areas for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  • Supervise the maintenance of ledgers, inventory records, and related accounting reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Represent the Company in dealings with vendors and government agencies, as assigned.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Five to eight years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Broad business experience, with preferred experience in cost accounting and mastery of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow.
  • Ability to build relationships, lead and direct the work of others, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of ERP systems and JD Edwards preferred.
