Key Responsibilities:
We seek dedicated individuals who will champion the Select Medical Way, which emphasizes patient-first approaches, enhancing community quality of life, continuous personal and professional development, delivering high-quality care, and adhering to ethical practices.
Your role will involve:
- Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and ongoing evaluations, establishing both short-term and long-term goals, recommending appropriate nutrition interventions, and monitoring patient progress.
- Collaborating closely with the Speech Therapy Department to facilitate the safe progression of modified diets, ensuring optimal oral intake for patients.
- Assessing potential interactions between food and medications, as well as herbal supplements.
- Creating and implementing educational initiatives for both patients and staff.
- Serving as a knowledgeable resource on emerging trends in nutritional care for our patient demographic.
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to communicate patients' nutritional care plans, progress, and specific needs.
- Contributing to the development, planning, and standardization of menus.
- Conducting meal rounds to verify that patients' meal trays align with prescribed diets and meet established standards for quality, quantity, temperature, and presentation.
- Maintaining current professional registration requirements, including professional development and continuing education.
- Effectively communicating patients' needs to relevant team members.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. A passion for delivering exceptional quality care and the ability to creatively solve problems in a dynamic environment are essential.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
- Current state licensure/certification, as required by state regulations.
- Active registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting with relevant responsibilities or equivalent experience.
