Your Responsibilities:

We are in search of a part-time Junior Environmental Consultant to support our operations in environmental assessments, compliance, and due diligence initiatives in the upper Midwest. Key responsibilities include conducting desktop reviews of historical site data, performing field assessments to document environmental conditions, preparing reports for due diligence evaluations, assisting with cultural and wetland surveys, and aiding in project coordination activities. Daily collaboration with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies is anticipated.

Work hours may vary, with potential for full-time hours during peak periods.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess 1-3 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with wetland delineations or site investigations and field sampling for soil and groundwater is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A proven track record of successfully supporting complex and time-sensitive projects.
  • A strong motivation, client-centric approach, and ability to thrive in a team setting.
  • Excellent organizational and client interaction skills, along with proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Additionally:

  • This role requires regular driving. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
Education/Certification:

A Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, earth sciences, or natural resources is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of navigating project sites and physically able to carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, such as maps, GPS devices, field screening tools, and cameras during fieldwork. Field activities may occur in various weather conditions and remote locations, including uneven terrain. Some fieldwork may necessitate overnight travel.

Work Environment:

The role involves a combination of office and fieldwork, with some field assignments requiring overnight stays. Travel may range from day-long projects without overnight stays to multi-day field projects that do require overnight accommodations. Work locations can vary between urban and rural settings and may occur in any season and weather conditions.
