Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will engage in on-site investigations at various project locations involving contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, and soil vapor. Responsibilities will include field oversight, documentation, sample collection, data logging, remedial design, and preparation of technical documents and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Environmental Site Assessments and sampling of building materials.
- Perform screening of soil and groundwater for a range of environmental contaminants.
- Supervise remedial projects to ensure adherence to plans and specifications, coordinating monitoring and testing services.
- Document test results and verify the accuracy and completeness of test data.
- Assist in data collection and the preparation of reports.
- Support remedial system design, engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Travel to local and regional project sites as needed (up to 30% travel and 75% fieldwork expected, depending on project requirements).
- Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clients.
- Provide support to regional environmental staff as necessary to manage workload.
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or geological engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate preferred or the ability to obtain within one year.
- OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.
- Experience in field data collection, investigation, and remediation oversight is advantageous.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
