Position Overview:
The Advanced Ultrasound Specialist is tasked with the proficient operation of diagnostic imaging equipment to identify intricate medical conditions. This role encompasses conducting and conveying the outcomes of diagnostic assessments, particularly in complex obstetric and gynecological scanning, as well as sophisticated vascular diagnostics.


Key Responsibilities:


- Collaborate with radiologists in executing invasive diagnostic procedures, including needle biopsies and guided placements for surgical interventions.
- Provide training and standardization to residents on these specialized examinations.
- Assess potential contraindications, including medication interactions and patient readiness, to ensure safe procedures.
- Conduct ultrasound examinations under appropriate supervision, adhering to established protocols.
- Identify sonographic features of both normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow.
- Continuously analyze sonographic findings during examinations to deliver comprehensive data to physicians.

- Recognize abnormalities that necessitate real-time observation by a radiologist.
- Capture images while obtaining Doppler signals, ensuring all patient information is accurately recorded for radiologist interpretation.
- Communicate preliminary results and insights to the radiologist and/or referring physician.


Educational Qualifications:


- Successful completion of a twelve-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or an equivalent certification program is essential.


Licensure and Certification:


- Must hold RDMS registration from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with certification in at least one relevant modality (e.g., Abdomen, OBGYN, RVT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is required.


Professional Experience:


- A minimum of three years of experience in the role of an Ultrasound Technician is required.
- Candidates must complete all department-specific competencies within the first year of employment and maintain annual modality competencies along with ongoing education to uphold the Ultrasound Tech II designation.
