Position Summary: We are in search of a qualified Pharmacist to join our team in Iowa. This role is perfect for an individual who is personable, proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and confirm orders processed by pharmacy technicians for accuracy.
- Ensure the correctness of drug packaging and labeling.
- Oversee workflow processes, including verification, labeling, packaging, and quality assurance, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Uphold medication packaging standards, quality assurance, and security protocols for controlled substances.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of sterile IV medications as required.
- Assist in managing inventory for controlled substances.
- Comply with DEA and state regulations regarding controlled substances.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintain pharmacy security and follow delivery protocols.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the Pharmacy department by adhering to cleanliness and infection control standards.
- Follow HIPAA and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Support the management and supervision of staff alongside the Pharmacist in Charge.
- Utilize various packaging and automation technologies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Pharmacist in Iowa with good standing.
- Preferred experience in long-term care and/or familiarity with Framework LTC software.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations, including DEA standards.
- Experience in cycle dispensing and compounding is advantageous.
- Must possess strong multitasking abilities and be detail-oriented.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills are essential.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills are required.
- Ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality is necessary.
