The Ambulatory Oncology Pharmacy Specialist will play a crucial role in managing pharmacotherapy for adult patients dealing with various malignancies in an outpatient setting. This position involves collaboration with other oncology pharmacy specialists to ensure comprehensive care across different medical teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing education and support to patients undergoing oral anticancer treatments
  • Monitoring patient progress and managing side effects of therapies
  • Conducting medication reconciliations and liaising with specialty pharmacies

The specialist will also engage in educational initiatives for pharmacy students, residents, and healthcare professionals, serving as a mentor and preceptor for pharmacy residency programs. Participation in research activities and contribution to formulary management and policy development will also be expected.

Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacist licensure
  • Pharm. D. degree or equivalent experience
  • Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 residency in oncology preferred
  • Board certification within two years of employment
  • IV certification and BLS certification within specified timeframes
