We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriter to join our team at National Life Group. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely risk assessment and evaluation of life applications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk assessments and follow established underwriting philosophies by analyzing data, utilizing tools, and third-party information to protect the company's bottom line and maintain profitability.
- Proactively seek information, take advantage of educational opportunities, and continuously expand your knowledge, skills, and abilities to build a solid underwriting career.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external constituents to gather information, gain insights, and explain underwriting decision-making.
- Participate in interdepartmental presentations, assist with new hire training, and guide and educate others to improve underwriting quality, capabilities, efficiencies, and output.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve escalations to deliver seamless service and protect the bottom line.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, and minimum 2 years of life underwriting experience in a production-oriented environment required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
