Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, features, and improvements for the end-to-end customer API journey.
  • Create initiatives, plans, and priorities for the Bandwidth API and Developer Experience.
  • Focus on interactions related to products and services, encompassing quality, functionality, design, and usability.
  • Advocate for unified API-first design, using OpenAPI specifications with each product team within Bandwidth.
  • Oversee all potential interactions, including through the Bandwidth APIs, that a customer will have with a product throughout the customer journey.
  • Work with Sales & Market Offer teams on strategic accounts as a technical expert on all things Bandwidth API related.
  • Define metrics through user acquisition, onboarding, product adoption, conversion, and retention.
  • Accountable for API product experience outcomes, even though actual product experience strategies and implementation are cross-functional.
  • Drive platform improvements from ideas into solutions that can be validated with potential customers, including prototyping and strategic/technology descriptions.
  • Focus on refining, through discovery and API competitive analysis, to build solutions for One Bandwidth API strategy.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture community to stay up-to-date with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
  • Establish communication channels between technical teams and customer-facing teams to ensure accurate communications are delivered at the right time.
  • Ensure customers have an exceptional user experience each time they interact with the product.
  • Define tools for designing new APIs, including the pipeline for generating our API reference and SDKs.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience working in product/software design, software architecture, or in a solutions architect role.
  • Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience.
  • Both a passion for and experience with consuming APIs, as well as building and shipping API platforms for developers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, structuring ambiguous concepts clearly and from first principles.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with telecommunications-involved software preferred.
  • A fearless, never-settle attitude that will challenge the way we do things, and a refusal to accept the status quo.
