Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy Unit as a PRN. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient-centered care and a commitment to excellence in their work.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Actively instructs and educates patients and their families on the Plan of Care and discharge instructions for the endoscopy procedure to be performed.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Assists physicians with endoscopy laboratory procedures by performing techniques for instruments and accessories.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Knows and performs techniques for specimens collection, labeling, ordering, and documenting.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Must obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of employment.
- Currently licensed as an Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana or hold active Compact State Nursing license.
- Graduated of an accredited degree of RN Professional Nursing.
- Previous Endoscopy experience preferred.
