This role involves performing tasks related to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The MRI Technologist will provide direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice, adhering to state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts MRI scans following established protocols and parameters, with the ability to troubleshoot MRI systems.
  • Maintains records of patient examinations.
  • Proficiently initiates IVs.
  • Adapts to various MRI environments, including 1.5T and 3T MRI machines, as well as MRI systems in operating rooms.
  • Operates different patient monitoring systems across the organization.
  • Adheres to MRI safety protocols in accordance with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Depending on the department, the employee may need to obtain ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certification within six months of employment.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following:
  • ARRT Registration as Nuclear Medicine Technology R.T. (N)(ARRT).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT).

* Additional licensing requirements may be specified by the hiring department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of technical experience is preferred.
