Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct MRI scans on patients following established protocols and troubleshooting MRI systems as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient examinations.
  • Confidently initiate IVs when required.
  • Adapt to various MRI environments, including 1.5T and 3T MRI machines.
  • Utilize different patient monitoring systems across the organization.
  • Adhere to MRI safety protocols in accordance with organizational policies.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions as outlined.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to provide care tailored to the served population.


Qualifications:
Required:

  • Depending on the department, certification as ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) may be required within six months of hire.
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following certifications:
    • Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
    • ARRT Registration as Nuclear Medicine Technology R.T. (N)(ARRT).
    • ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technician R.T. (R)(ARRT).


Preferred:

  • Three years of technical experience in a related field.


Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects, including medical equipment and patients.
