We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Acting to join our faculty at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of acting courses, directing productions, and contributing to the department's service and research activities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach acting courses at all levels, including voice and movement techniques, scene study, and character development.
- Direct one mainstage production and/or musical per academic year.
- Advise and mentor department majors, including recruitment activities and student productions.
- Participate in departmental service and research activities, including committee work and professional development.
- Master's degree in theater or a related field required; MFA preferred.
- Professional performing and/or directing experience and prior university teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in teaching and directing at the university level.
- Strong background in acting, directing, and theater education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals.
