Position Summary:

The primary role of a Prep Cook is to support the kitchen team in preparing a variety of flavorful dishes while upholding the standards of Hawkers Asian Street Fare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all necessary training and assessments, including ongoing education.
  • Prepare ingredients by peeling and chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats for various dishes.
  • Carry out routine tasks as directed by kitchen leadership.
  • Follow established recipes and preparation methods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and utensils, ensuring proper waste disposal.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Ensure food preparation areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Be adaptable with scheduling to support restaurant operations.
  • Maintain high personal hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
  • Obtain Food Handlers Certification and comply with safety regulations.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach overhead frequently.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Compensation:

$20-$25/hr.
