Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join our Clinical Resource Team at UPMC Western Maryland. As a member of our team, you will provide routine patient care and support services to ensure the highest level of quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care as directed by the RN and LPN, including activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating patients.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, including completing safety checks, keeping the department and patient rooms clean and organized, and cleaning department-specific equipment.
  • Respond to patient needs and calls in a timely manner, and acquire and distribute supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care delivery.
  • Perform routine tests such as patient weights, vital signs, and Intake & Output, and provide feedback to the RN/LPN regarding patient care and reports changes in patient status in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to universal unit activities, including responding to call lights and telephones, passing meal trays, and transporting patients.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required, or completion of a certified nursing program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with one year of general healthcare experience or six months of experience as a UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification preferred, or enrollment in an EMT or Paramedic program.
