We are seeking a skilled Lifeguard to join our team at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool users and spectators by enforcing safety rules and responding to emergencies. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and certification in lifeguarding, with paid training provided.
Responsibilities- Actively monitor the activities of pool users and patrons, educating them on safety rules and regulations.
- Respond to emergencies by providing appropriate care within your level of training as a certified lifeguard.
- Report all incidents of damages or injuries using the appropriate reporting systems accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining the pool and related facilities, and collect lost and found items.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
- Teach swimming techniques and water safety.
- Knowledge of lifeguarding techniques and principles, including first aid and CPR/AED.
- Knowledge of swimming lesson techniques and methods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to adhere to safety standards.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
- American Red Cross Bloodborne Pathogens Training certification.
- Northwest Lifeguard Preparation Course certification.
- Work Location: King County Aquatic Center, 650 SW Campus Dr., Federal Way, WA 98023.
- Work Schedule: Flexible schedule, including weekends and late evenings.
- Union Representation: Not represented by a union.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50lbs, maintain 20/40 vision, and perform duties involving physical labor.
