Job Title: Construction Inspector

Join the County of Yolo, CA team as a Construction Inspector and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of public infrastructure projects.

Job Summary:

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of public works improvement projects, including roads, bridges, drainage structures, and site improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations
  • Verify the quality and accuracy of construction materials and workmanship
  • Identify and report any defects, irregularities, or safety hazards
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project completion
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and findings
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
  • Five (5) years of experience in general highway, street, and drainage construction as a contractor's foreman or superintendent, or as an inspector in these areas
  • Valid California driver's license, Class C or higher
