As a Camp Leader, your role will involve active engagement in all camp activities while assisting the Camp Director with various daily responsibilities. Your primary objective will be to foster a memorable and impactful camp experience for the children. You will interact with campers throughout the day, helping them forge friendships, explore new activities, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Camp Leader's role is centered around participation, relationship-building, and enjoyment, all while safeguarding the physical and emotional safety of each child.
Essential Qualities of a Camp Leader
- Ability to nurture children's growth in character and experiences
- Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of campers at all times
- Capacity to maintain energy for a full day of activities
- Previous experience working with children
- Attributes such as Enthusiasm, Responsibility, Dependability, Consistency, Level-Headedness, Flexibility, and Calmness in various situations
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to the summer season
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience for a group of campers
- Collaborate effectively with fellow Camp Leaders and the Camp Director
- Welcome families and campers upon their arrival
- Assist the Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency protocols with campers
- Participate actively in all camp activities
- Oversee daily swim sessions in a hands-on manner (lifeguard certification not required)
- Provide support wherever needed and lead activities as directed by the Camp Director
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned
