Position Overview
As a key member of Fort Point LLC, the Telecommunications Permitting Coordinator is responsible for managing the preparation and submission of various entitlement applications, permits, and agreements necessary for the installation of communication facilities. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of municipal processes, codes, and ordinances, along with frequent interaction with local governments and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit zoning and permitting applications while monitoring the progress of municipal submissions and facilitating requests for additional information.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure permit drawings and construction documents are accurate and meet jurisdictional requirements.
  • Provide timely updates to the production team and manage zoning and permitting tasks according to established processes and metrics.
  • Act as the entitlement lead during customer meetings, demonstrating expertise in state and local telecommunication municipal codes.
  • Communicate zoning and permitting conditions of approval to internal teams effectively.
  • Oversee external vendor activities related to zoning and permitting, ensuring alignment with team objectives.
  • Manage the payment of applicable permitting fees and ensure proper allocation for reimbursement visibility.
  • Identify zoning and permitting requirements for various projects and maintain relationships with municipal officials.
  • Serve as a liaison between jurisdictions and the legal team to resolve complex permitting issues.
  • Provide research and advice on zoning and permitting requirements, identifying potential risks and proposing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience; experience in the wireless industry is preferred.
  • At least two years of proven experience in a municipality in a Planning, Zoning, or Land Use capacity, or in the Wireless Industry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of planning and zoning codes affecting site development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information to public and governmental entities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and solve problems effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in documentation and compliance.
  • Willingness to travel to local governments and municipalities as required.

Working Conditions
This position primarily operates in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Occasional travel may be necessary for in-person jurisdictional matters.
