Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and assemble metal components by laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting fabricated parts according to work orders, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Perform tack welding to temporarily hold pieces together.
  • Utilize appropriate welding techniques to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal parts based on specified layouts and work orders using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Mark weld points on parts or subassemblies as needed.
  • Position items for welding using jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and committees.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Level 2 Fitter/Welder.
  • Ability to fit and tack weld subassemblies.
  • Proficient in precise measurements within specified tolerances.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints.
