Job Summary

At Air Compressor Solutions, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Technician Intern to join our team. As an Assembly Technician Intern, you will play a critical role in the assembly and testing of our products, working closely with our experienced team members to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tanks with all necessary connections and plumbing for the next steps in the process, including thread conditioning, assembly, and final touch-ups.
  • Test and prepare dryers for the next steps in the process, including leak testing, component swapping, and final validation.
  • Prepare compressors with fluids and electrical components, inspecting all components to ensure they are in working condition.
  • Use the pipe threader machine to create pipe pieces of different diameters and lengths to meet assembly requirements.
  • Follow schematics or drawings to make proper holes on skids in preparation for assembly.
  • Read specifications and study job orders, travelers, and drawings to determine machining, welding, and assembling operations.
  • Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for proper functionality.
  • Assist in recording information on products inspected and work orders.
  • Assist in marking defective parts or products for repair and bring them to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs under the supervision of a team member.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school nearing graduation within the next year.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings.
  • Experience working with various hand tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of hands/fingers or feel during normal job requirements.
  • Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while working on equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance).
  • Be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions (extreme heat and cold).
  • Required to work in areas of extreme temperatures due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
  • Ability to climb various equipment and ladders, lift and carry equipment, tools, and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
