Electrical Systems Technician

Position Overview: Responsible for the assembly and wiring of newly constructed or refurbished pumps, control systems, blending equipment, and data acquisition systems. Engages in diagnostic troubleshooting of these components to ensure optimal functionality. Also accountable for the completion of cable assembly and the installation of technical communication vehicles (TCVs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts fundamental tasks such as diagnosing issues with pumps, blending systems, TCVs, and cable assembly under close supervision.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical and electronic apparatus, including but not limited to programmable controllers, power supplies, measuring instruments, gauges, and testing devices.
  • Alerts relevant management and technical staff about potential electrical or mechanical issues and associated risks.
  • Keeps detailed performance and maintenance logs for specified equipment as per company standards.
  • Executes preventive maintenance tasks as instructed, with ongoing supervision.
  • Undertakes additional related responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A two-year technical degree, completion of an accredited apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment is essential.
  • Basic understanding of schematic interpretation, wiring techniques, soldering methods, testing equipment usage, and fundamental electronic troubleshooting principles is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Must collaborate with senior technicians until achieving proficiency.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel frequently may be required.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices is essential.
  • Must handle confidential information with discretion.

Cognitive and Physical Requirements:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capable of utilizing advanced software applications to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Able to perform under pressure when necessary.
  • Engages in physical activities requiring significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
