Key Responsibilities:
Supervises daily activities of staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.Oversees driver scheduling and payroll processes.Facilitates load completions and ensures accurate data entry into TMW.Collaborates with management on customer invoicing and reconciles common carrier invoices.Optimizes equipment utilization for maximum efficiency.Coordinates equipment maintenance with management and fleet teams.Prepares and submits daily end-of-shift reports.Recommends initiatives and programs to enhance operational efficiency and participates in their implementation.Employee Engagement and Development
Maintains daily communication with coordinators and drivers regarding service issues, workload forecasts, and relevant company updates.Contributes to the development of training programs aimed at enhancing personnel effectiveness.Assists in onboarding new employees and ensures adherence to training protocols.Implements sound human resources practices with direct reports, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.Collaborates with Management and Human Resources to address employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.Provides ongoing feedback, coaching, and recognition to support skill development.Actively participates in employee development and talent acquisition processes.Conducts regular performance reviews and maintains accurate timekeeping records.Demonstrates commitment to personal development by staying informed on industry trends and tools.Safety and Compliance
Ensures a safe, clean, and efficient work environment to meet service standards.Supports safety programs and adheres to OSHA/DOT regulations to promote a safe workplace.Follows established procedures for reporting and analyzing employee injuries and accidents.Ensures employees complete daily pre/post-trip inspections and reviews.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
- High School Diploma is mandatory.
- Familiarity with TMW and People Net is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of managing shifting priorities and exercising sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of transportation and mechanical equipment.
- Understanding of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and FDA regulations, with a willingness to obtain necessary certifications.
- Strong talent management and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills, particularly with external clients.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred for certain locations.
