Role Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will deliver essential EHS guidance and technical support to the MedTech facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

The EHS Specialist will oversee the planning, execution, and enhancement of Safety initiatives aimed at fulfilling MedTech objectives. This role involves:

  1. Establishing and maintaining effective processes to identify, assess, and mitigate Safety risks in the workplace.
  2. Collaborating with various departments to provide technical mentorship and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Conducting thorough assessments and data analyses to develop strategies that align with corporate and site-specific goals.
  4. Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, along with internal EHS standards.
  5. Participating in high-level, cross-functional teams to devise solutions for Safety challenges.

Essential Duties:

  1. Apply knowledge of relevant safety regulations and reporting requirements.
  2. Engage with site leadership regarding safety compliance and practices.
  3. Coordinate site teams to formulate and implement Safety protocols.
  4. Provide technical support during the Management of Change process for new projects.
  5. Lead the deployment of the electronic work permit project in collaboration with stakeholders.
  6. Implement contractor safety programs to evaluate risks and establish effective controls.
  7. Design and deliver training programs to enhance safety awareness across the organization.
  8. Conduct annual reviews of safety programs, identify areas for improvement, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
  9. Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related fields are preferred.

Certifications: Preferred certifications include CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM.

Experience: At least four years of relevant experience in Safety and Industrial Hygiene, with a strong understanding of risk management in the workplace.

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of EHS regulations at various governmental levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects effectively, managing schedules and budgets.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, capable of creating presentations and reports.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with EHS data management systems and familiarity with diverse Safety and Industrial Hygiene practices, including contractor safety and ergonomics, is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to meet physical demands, including standing and mobility within the facility, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Personal protective equipment is required.

Travel Requirements: Occasional domestic travel may be necessary.
