Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that recreational activities are tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents.
  • Lead a team of recreation therapists and volunteers to deliver high-quality recreational programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and vendors to provide opportunities for residents to engage in off-site recreational activities.
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Recreation Therapist in accordance with the State's Public Health Code is required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Tactful communication skills when interacting with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Possess patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with a willingness to handle residents at their current level of functioning.
