Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Specialist to join our team at Rochester Rehab. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting our clients with preparing and seeking successful volunteer work, education/training, and employment in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with employers in the community to foster possible partnerships in placing consumers in competitive employment.
  • Assist consumers with learning the skills necessary to find competitive employment in the community.
  • Provide proper documentation of all recorded visits and work done on behalf of consumer via case notes.
  • Assist consumers in developing an individual vocational rehabilitation plan that includes on-going assessment of progress and needs.
  • Serve as an agency representative to professional associations and other organizations that offer job networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Employment Consultants after placement of consumers to enhance job retention.
  • Model effective team work and contribute to the success of program and management teams.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate marketing tools to support job development, job placement and job retention activities.
  • Develop and facilitate job readiness training and other mental health recovery workshops.
  • Maintain contact with consumers on a regular basis to encourage participation and follow through on all job development activities.
  • Develop and coordinate in-house volunteer opportunities, and offer training to clients starting their volunteer positions. Facilitate connections between clients and volunteer opportunities in the community.
  • Promote connections to education and training resources, including Access-VR, REOC, Greece Community Education, BOCES, etc.
  • Develop Structured Skill Development projects by generating ideas, estimating costs and securing materials.
  • Carry ORS clients on their caseload and provide offsite counseling and support.
  • Advise clients on benefits management issues and budgeting.
  • Act as liaison between clients and community-based resources (i.e., case managers and rep payees).
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures to include being aware of the importance of Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Conduct.
  • Responsible for maintaining required certifications and licenses.
  • Facilitate vocational groups
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human services, business, marketing or other related field with 2 years experience in employment and counseling.
  • Valid New York State drivers license, safe driving record and use of personal vehicle required
