Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Specialist to join our team. As a Family Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring families have access to relevant services, providing service navigation, individualized support, and group facilitation services through evidence-based models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate parents on safety and risk awareness, increasing natural support, fatherhood, and improving parenting skills.
  • Facilitate learning and support groups for parents, caregivers, and children, maintaining fidelity to designated models.
  • Identify specialized needs for parents and caregivers and connect them with appropriate resources and supportive services within the BAPC service continuum or community.
  • Perform all work with trauma-informed care and healing-centered treatment, providing safety planning procedures.
  • Coach parenting skills based on promising practices and evidence-based models.
  • Provide advocacy and assistance to parents and caregivers in negotiating barriers that get in the way of them supporting the children in their home.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, Criminal Justice, or related Human Services area preferred.
  • 3+ years related work experience supporting services for kids and families.
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language required.
  • Valid driver's license; must maintain agency-required auto insurance of $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 property damage.
  • Knowledge of case management and mental health billing.
  • Knowledge of peer-to-peer support and/or mentoring.
  • Strong coaching ability with the capability to customize a developed program to meet the needs of varying customers.
  • Solid organizational and collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain organization.
  • Outstanding facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and train diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours.
