Role Overview
The Production Equipment Specialist is integral to the initial phase of our manufacturing process. This role demands meticulous and consistent execution of batch preparation, ensuring product quality and thorough documentation prior to the transition to subsequent stages. The Specialist will uphold precision in documentation and portioning to guarantee that dough characteristics align with the standards necessary for proofing, baking, and packaging. This position plays a crucial role in the multi-step bread-making process, where accuracy is vital. Additionally, the Specialist will engage in research and development trials and training aimed at improving product quality, while also maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to sanitation protocols, and fulfilling daily operational tasks.
Responsibilities will encompass duties within various segments of the production line, including Mixer, Molding, and Oven operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the production of consistent, high-quality products that seamlessly transition from mixing to packaging, meeting operational efficiency goals.
- Maintain continuous communication with fellow operators to facilitate a steady flow of production.
- Effectively report any deviations, production halts, or issues to the team to minimize product loss and downtime.
- Collaborate with Line Conductors regarding operator availability to optimize production efficiency.
- Promptly address all safety and quality concerns with the appropriate supervisory personnel.
- Keep accurate and timely records of production and quality metrics.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and engagement within the team.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with fellow operators, Line Conductors, and Supervisors.
- Engage in interdepartmental collaboration to achieve shared company objectives.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and good manufacturing practices, ensuring compliance with all quality standards.
- Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain required attire while on the production floor.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or baking is preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards, alongside Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Demonstrated time management skills to enhance operational efficiency.
- Proficient in operating machinery and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Competent in changeover procedures, including tooling and recipe adjustments.
- Continuously monitor operations to identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities quickly.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 55 lbs.
- Commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Willingness to assist in various operational areas to support ongoing growth.
Backup Support
In the absence of the Production Equipment Specialist, the Production Supervisor will assume responsibilities.
