Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable Traffic Safety Monitor to join our team at the City of San Angelo Texas.

Job Summary

This is an on-call position that requires the employee to provide a reliable automobile to transport crossing guard equipment to job sites and a cell phone to be reached for short notice calls to duty or calls for assistance in an emergency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control and direct children safely through crosswalks
  • Observe traffic and ensure the safety of pedestrians
  • Maintain accurate records, including time sheets and attendance sheets
  • Be available for short notice calls to work
  • Work in extreme weather conditions, if necessary
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to read and understand English language
  • Effective communication skills with children and adults
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform basic math
Working Conditions
  • Able to lift 10 to 15 lbs. overhead
  • Must be able to walk unassisted over uneven terrain
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience. Regular and timely attendance is required, and hours of work will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 8:15 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
