Job Description

">

As a Field Supervisor at AWP Safety, you will play a crucial role in upholding the core values of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Supporting the Area Manager and General Manager in managing your team of protectors">
  • Collaborating daily with all Area Staff to achieve Continuous Improvement in functional areas">
  • Direct supervision of Field crews">
  • Maintaining field and office responsibilities, with 80% time spent in the field and 20% in the office">
  • Ensuring safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention are top priorities">
  • Protecting employees, customers, and assets through safe work practices">
  • Coaching, motivating, and developing your team of protectors">
  • Developing relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities">
  • Performing field and vehicle inspections, attending pre-bid meetings, meeting with clients, and working in the field as needed">
  • Addressing customer service issues promptly and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service">
  • Assisting in preparing daily schedules">
  • Monitoring daily employee issues, including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training requirements">
  • Facilitating team-building efforts and regular communications with team members">
  • Engaging and supporting the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and reduce labor costs">
  • Obtaining ATSSA and state-specific certifications">
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging">
  • Other duties as assigned">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • ">
  • A high school diploma or GED completion">
  • A 4-year degree in a business-related field (optional)">
  • 1-2 years of supervisor experience with a team of 20+ individuals">
  • The ability to connect with field-level customers and contacts">
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills">
  • The initiative to build work relationships with your team">
  • A contribution to the engagement and ongoing development of AWP Safety employees">
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems">
  • A commitment to safe workplace practices">
  • A valid driver's license with no suspension or revocation">
  • A willingness to work varied hours based on staffing needs and workload">
  • A typical workweek of 40+ hours">
  • A majority of time spent in the field">
  • The ability to work in outside conditions, including inclement weather, and exposure to dust and asphalt">
  • Noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud">
  • The ability to lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds">
  • If necessary, standing for long periods and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions">
