Staff Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements, and assisting with month-end close activities and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Accounting and Financial Reporting: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements, and assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze balance sheet and income statement schedules, and review and verify the accuracy of accounting transactions and records.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures, and assist with internal and external audits and tax filings.
  • Team Collaboration: Support other accounting projects as assigned and work collaboratively with the accounting team to achieve goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting or related field required.
  • Skills: Proficient in SAP accounting software required, strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to: the individual's skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certification requirements; office location and other geographic considerations; other business and organizational needs.
