Pediatric Anesthesiology Faculty Position Available

EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY WITH MEDICAL COLLEGE OF WISCONSIN AND CHILDREN'S WISCONSIN
The Department of Anesthesiology at Children's Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin is actively seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist. The Pediatric Anesthesiology Section is dedicated to providing care for over 20,000 children each year across various settings including perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain management. This faculty member will collaborate with a team of 35 fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists, engaging in direct patient care, oversight of the care team, and the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Pediatric anesthesiologists work in a cooperative and nurturing environment alongside world-class surgical and medical professionals, fostering opportunities for clinical excellence across a spectrum of subspecialty services while contributing to the academic, research, educational, and quality improvement missions of the institutions.
Key Responsibilities in Pediatric Anesthesiology
- Collaborate with a team of 35 fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists and a growing group of medically directed Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Assistants.
- Engage in a dynamic practice that encompasses both operating room and non-operating room settings at the Milwaukee Campus.
- Provide leadership and direction to perioperative team members to enhance patient care safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Work alongside esteemed pediatric surgeons and medical staff on a variety of complex cases.
- Contribute to the clinical education of pediatric fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees.
- Emphasize a patient-centered approach to care delivery while fostering a culture of inquiry and safety.
- Participate in the academic, research, and educational initiatives of the institution.
- Establish positive relationships with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, technicians, and other stakeholders.

Children's and its partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin - the Children's Specialty Group (CSG) - represent the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, delivering the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children's Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In recent evaluations, six specialties were recognized by US News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG facilitated 220,000 outpatient visits across 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions in a recent year. CSG anesthesiologists provided perioperative care for more than 22,500 surgical, interventional, and complex diagnostic cases.
