Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at LifePoint Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Educate the patient and family about the patient's illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of employment.
  • AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, night shift position at our NC-Clyde location.
