Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and analyze lung capacity and blood samples using a blood gas analyzer
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources
  • Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders
  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy
  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of employment, AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of employment
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist required, credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
