Road Condition Survey Engineer

Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or hold a High School Diploma/GED.
- Essential Skills: Proficiency in conducting assessments of non-paved road conditions. Training will be provided.
- Familiarity with Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel is necessary.
This role involves evaluating the surface conditions of aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roads using the rating scale specified in the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.
- Conduct surface condition evaluations on aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roads utilizing the PASER rating scale. 100% of the time.
- Training will be provided on the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.
- Travel Requirements: Regular travel is expected during the standard workweek, Monday through Friday.
- Overnight travel may be required during the normal workweek, Monday through Friday.
- Health and Safety Considerations: The role may necessitate walking on uneven terrain and traversing extensive non-paved road surfaces.
- Required Safety Equipment: Visible Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and hard hats.
- Safety Equipment Usage: PPE must be worn when conducting surveys on roads for safety purposes.
- Physical Demands: The position requires travel to remote forest locations to perform road condition assessments on non-paved gravel roads. The candidate may need to walk on these roads to accurately determine condition ratings.
