Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a PT Teller at M&T Bank. As a key member of our branch team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and resolving routine problems in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized service to customers, responding to their needs and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Process a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Act as a digital ambassador, educating customers on our digital banking services and identifying opportunities to enhance their experience.
  • Manage the lobby, greeting customers and proactively addressing their needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Balance and process customer transactions accurately, adhering to Bank Policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of escalated account services issues, working closely with colleagues to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete branch-related operational activities, including cash ordering, vault management, and ATM maintenance.
  • Process customer/account maintenance, including account openings, closures, and updates.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls, ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and colleagues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
  • Proven verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, with a focus on empathy, customer centricity, and flexibility.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proven time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with internet user-level technology, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual based on branch needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, with the ability to lift light to heavy objects weighing 5lbs – 30lbs.
  • Ability to read fine print, with the ability to interact with customers in an open face-to-face work environment.
What We Offer

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $25.76 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
