Job Title: Durable Medical Equipment Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Durable Medical Equipment Technician to join our team at Ortho Rhode Island. As a DME Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of medical equipment to patients, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Interaction: Greet patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, and provide education on the proper care and use of medical equipment.
  2. Equipment Distribution: Perform sizing, fitting, and distribution of DME items in accordance with physician orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
  3. Cast and Brace Application: Apply, modify, and remove upper and lower extremity casts, and educate patients on proper care and usage.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, track orders, and ensure timely restocking of medical equipment.
  5. Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of medical equipment and services.

Requirements:

  1. Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  2. Experience: At least one year of orthopedic-related work experience, with a focus on DME distribution and cast application.
  3. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Work Environment:

This role operates in a clinical environment, with frequent walking, standing, and sitting required. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual dexterity tasks is essential.

Benefits:

This is a full-time position, with a competitive salary and benefits package. The schedule will be Monday through Saturday, with shifts assigned in advance.
