About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at Little Dolphins By the Sea Preschool. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher(s) in managing a group of students aged 2 years, 5 months to 5 years, 11 months.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Teacher(s): Assist in planning and implementing engaging and educational activities that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of our students.
  • Organize and Prepare Materials: Ensure that all materials and resources are available and organized to support the learning environment.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and openly with other faculty and staff, the director, and parents (when necessary) to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the preschool.
  • Assist with Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment by cleaning and sanitizing the classroom and materials throughout the day.
  • Support Curriculum Development: Assist in the preparation of all curriculum needs to ensure that our students receive a high-quality education.
Requirements
  • Focused and Attentive: Be able to maintain a high level of focus and attention during supervision of free play indoors and outdoors.
  • Effective Communication: Be able to communicate clearly and openly with other faculty and staff, the director, and parents (when necessary).
  • Self-Initiated: Be self-motivated and able to take initiative in completing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Experience Working with Young Children: Have experience working with young children and be able to provide a nurturing and supportive environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • ECE Classes: Required: 6 semester/9 quarter units of ECE classes completed OR enrolled in at least 2 units per semester until the 6 units are completed.
  • Livescan Fingerprint Clearance: Required.
  • Negative TB Test: Required: within 12 months.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine: Required.
  • MMR Vaccine: Required.
  • Tdap Vaccine: Required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of ECE facility experience and CPR certification.
