Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of natural gas compression machinery. This position demands a high level of technical skill, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong dedication to safety and quality standards.

The Maintenance Technician will collaborate closely with the Shop Manager and fellow technicians to guarantee that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute job functions in alignment with Kodiak's established procedures, objectives, and protocols.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to detect potential issues and ensure adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance and repair tasks, including work orders, parts utilized, and time allocated for each job.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to foster a secure working environment.
  • Engage in safety training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression systems, including compressors, engines, and associated components.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and the Shop Manager to resolve equipment challenges and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance activities meet the highest quality standards and comply with manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of natural gas compression systems or similar mechanical equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficient in utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 75% of the workday.
  • Capability to climb ladders or stairs for inspection, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Frequent lifting of at least 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of over 50 pounds.
  • Work in a high-noise environment (greater than 85 dBA) with required hearing protection.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled manner.
  • Work outdoors in varying conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to maneuver in various positions such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling in tight spaces.
  • Required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment, including typing and operating printers and copiers.
