Program Manager; K-12 Pathway Programs

Job Summary:
The Program Manager at UT Health Science Center plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Office of Pathway Programs & Recruitment. Reporting to the Director of Pathway Programs and Recruitment, this position is responsible for conducting outreach, engagement, programs, and activities with students enrolled in K-12 schools across the East Texas region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel within the service area to promote pathway programs, the UT Tyler School of Medicine, and recruit participants for Pathway Programs.
- Design, manage, organize, and coordinate high-impact, educational, and engaging programming for public and private K-12 student populations.
- Develop and coordinate presentations for various stakeholders to highlight the goals of pathway programs and the mission of the School of Medicine.
- Establish working relationships with various personnel at local K-12 schools to provide information on the School of Medicine and promote Pathway Programs.
- Prepare and disseminate newsletters to K-12 schools.
- Manage all aspects of programming for 194 ISDs and private schools in East Texas, including day activities, weekend programming, and summer camps.
- Manage program applicant screening, selection, and interview process.
- Design and implement assessment plans for program participants.
- Manage the creation and dissemination of assessment tools and metrics.
- Analyze and prepare reports and evaluations of implemented K-12 programs, including tracking and follow-up with prospective participants, teachers, and administrators.
- Analyze and prepare reports and evaluations on the student's development throughout program involvement, creating and managing intervention tools when necessary.
- Manage scheduling for visits, tours, and programs across the East Texas service area, including on-campus, virtual, and designated sites.
- Manage mobile unit activation schedules for various K-12 pathway initiatives.
- Assist the Director with undergraduate and community pathway programs and projects.
- Supervise part-time employees, including student assistants and interns.
- Supervise full-time staff members.
- Establish and maintain strong lines of communication between K-12 teachers, counselors, and administrators, offering regular opportunities for dialogue on Pathway Program development and requirements.
- Manage annual budgets and assist with the preparation of budget requests and reports.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated success in collaboration, program management, and problem-solving.
- Outstanding oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of K-12 programming and curriculum requirements.
- Knowledge of student development principles, theories, and practices.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the need for data, data analysis, and data-driven decision making.
- Ability to discuss sensitive information with students and parents.
