Are you dedicated to enhancing mental health and well-being while being part of a dynamic community? At Vail Communities, we are committed to fostering hope and transforming mental health care through innovative, community-centered strategies. Our Clubhouse Program serves as the cornerstone of our efforts, providing a nurturing environment where individuals can participate in meaningful activities, promote personal development, and cultivate lasting relationships.

As a Community Support Generalist at Vail Communities, you will thrive in a uniquely collaborative atmosphere alongside adults experiencing mental health challenges. Our community-focused recovery model utilizes everyday activities to connect staff with members, facilitate peer interactions, and empower everyone to recognize their strengths and talents.

In this role, you will play a vital part in organizing and coordinating work tasks, aiding in goal setting, and supporting job development through training and assistance at transitional employment sites. You will exemplify encouragement, recognition, and a strengths-based approach, all aimed at helping members view themselves as valued contributors within the Clubhouse community.

At Vail, we believe that work should be both enjoyable and fulfilling. We strive to create a vibrant and dynamic environment where creativity flourishes and every individual feels appreciated. By promoting wellness and supporting individuals through engaging programs, you will significantly impact their lives.

Who are we?

Vail is a community dedicated to adults with serious mental health conditions, serving as a central point for access and coordination. With over 40 years of service in the Twin Cities, we are guided by our mission and core values, providing purpose, direction, and hope.

What do we offer?

Our employees are the heart of Vail. We are proud to offer a collaborative work environment, a flexible workplace, and excellent benefits. As a team member, you will receive a comprehensive package that includes free and low-cost ancillary health services for you and your family, along with a superior work-life balance. Our benefits include paid time off starting at 3 weeks per year, 13 company-paid holidays, 3 personal days, and safe and sick time allowances. Additional offerings include paid training and CEU opportunities, a company-issued laptop, and an Employee Assistance Program to support employees and their families.

What will you do?

The responsibilities of the Community Support Generalist include:

  • Planning and coordinating work tasks with both small and large groups.
  • Assisting Clubhouse members in establishing health and wellness, vocational, educational, and housing goals.
  • Engaging with Clubhouse members as colleagues in meaningful work.
  • Encouraging and motivating individuals who may not yet believe in their potential.
  • Leading by example through encouragement, appreciation, and a focus on abilities while accommodating individual needs.
  • Building relationships with Clubhouse members to help them see themselves as valued participants in the community.

This role may involve a focus on specific areas such as health and wellness, vocational/transitional employment, data management, and social recreation, adapting to the evolving needs of the community.

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS in human services or a related field, or BSW with valid Social Work licensure, or Community Health Worker (CHW) certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or human services.
  • A valid Minnesota Driver's License, automobile coverage, and access to a vehicle are required.
